(FEB NEWS) The Financial Services Authority (OJK) was present at Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) to share knowledge about sustainable finance, as an effort to support economic growth which will have a positive impact in the future.
Tuesday, March 15 2022, from the Fadjar Notonegoro Hall, 2nd Floor, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR), "The Role of Risk Management to Encourage the Acceleration of Sustainable Finance", as a theme, was discussed in a public lecture, which was a collaboration between FEB UNAIR and OJK Institute Financial Services Authority, by presenting Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak. – Chancellor Universitas Airlangga , to give an introductory public lecture and present 2 (two) speakers: 1.) Prof. Wimboh Santoso, SE., MSc., Ph.D. – Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners; 2.) Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia., SE., MSi., Ak., CMA., CA. – Dean of FEB UNAIR, and guided by Moderator Dr. Gancar Candra Premananto – Head of the Management Department, FEB UNAIR.
The event, which was held in a hybrid manner, was attended by Deputy Deans of FEB UNAIR, FEB UNAIR Managers, Lecturers, Professors, Trainees, Bankers, Undergraduate, Masters and Doctoral students from UNAIR and students from outside UNAIR (Institute of Technology Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Muhammadiyah University Surakarta (UMS), Hayam Wuruk University (UHW) Perbanas, UPN Veteran East Java, STIE Al-Ishlah Cirebon).
Apart from the Public Lecture, the event also saw the signing of a Cooperation Agreement between FEB UNAIR and the OJK Institute of the Financial Services Authority, regarding the Independent Campus Study Internship Program at the Financial Services Authority, which was signed by: Dr. Agus Sugiarto, SH, MBA – Head of the OJK Institute Department and Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia SE., MSi., Ak., CMA., CA. and witnessed directly by: Prof. Wimboh Santoso, SE., MSc., Ph.D. and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak.

In his introduction, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak. said that one of the goals of education at Universitas Airlangga is to increase relevance for its graduates. UNAIR hopes that none of its graduates will be irrelevant to the world they will face in the future. In accordance with the theme taken in the guest lecture, which is related to the acceleration of sustainable finance, according to Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak., “sustainability is currently a major world issue. Just like at the UN, we know about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)", which is a global action plan agreed upon by world leaders, including Indonesia, to end poverty, reduce inequality and protect the environment, which is expected to be achieved by 2030.
Regarding sustainability, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak. He stated that "at UNAIR there is also what we know as Smart University, where there is a program called "Sustainable Education for All", as part of the strategic theme in the field of education."
"UNAIR is determined to continue to increase the scientific relevance of its graduates, and therefore good relations, good partnerships and good collaboration between academics and the world of practitioners (related to economics, such as OJK, BI, as well as industry) are highly expected" , continued Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak., at the end of the guest lecture, that afternoon.
Prof. Wimboh Santoso, SE., MSc., Ph.D. also stated, on the sidelines of his guest lecture, that OJK is ready to support/collaborate with UNAIR, especially FEB UNAIR, to establish wider collaboration, which can start from study programs, which are related to Sustainable Finance, and the basis can be on OJK publications related to Sustainable Finance.
Like tit for tat, Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia., SE., MSi., Ak., CMA., CA., expressed her response to the challenge from Prof. Wimboh Santoso, SE., MSc., Ph.D., regarding the response from FEB UNAIR, that FEB UNAIR has responded to the need for technical competence as desired by the 2021 International Education Standard (IES), through redesigning its curriculum. where the Accountant Professional Education Program has included Governance, Risk Management and Internal Control course content, and no less important, information and communication technology course content, in its lectures.
More than that, Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia., SE., MSi., Ak., CMA., CA, also expressed strategic plans from FEB UNAIR, to open a new study program, namely the Master of Risk Management Study Program, at the beginning of the 2022 semester. FEB UNAIR will collaborate more closely with the OJK both in the development of Human Resources and in certification.
