UNAIR NEWS – The COVID-19 pandemic hampers access for new students from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) to enter the FEB building. This very limited access means that new students cannot know for sure what the condition of the Faculty building they will use will be.
Therefore, the PIKMEN committee took the initiative to create a Virtual Tour so that new students could get to know the facilities in the FEB UNAIR building. PIKMEN (Intellectual and Togetherness Week for Economics and Business Students) is a campus introduction program for new students at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UNAIR.
Andrew Alvaro Harun as Chair of the PIKMEN Committee said that the Virtual Tour would be held during the UNAIR Introduction to New Student Campus Life (PKKMB) and post-PKKMB periods. The good intention to create a Virtual Tour was supported by all FEB Student Organizations and received support from the Dean of FEB UNAIR.
Andrew, his nickname, hopes that the FEB UNAIR Virtual Tour can develop over time. It is hoped that the development of the virtual tour can become a tool that can increase the pride of FEB UNAIR students towards their alma mater.
"Senior high school students throughout Indonesia can also visit online, so they can increase their interest in becoming FEB UNAIR students," he explained.
Chairman of the FEB Student Executive Board (BEM), Saad, revealed that new FEB UNAIR students who did not live in the Surabaya area were facilitated by the PIKMEN 2020 committee to view the FEB building online. New students access the Virtual Tour simultaneously to coincide with the FEB campus visit schedule (3/8/2020).
"The group facilitator is tasked with providing an overview of the spots at FEB, the function of the facilities and rooms in the FEB building," he said.
The Covid-19 pandemic has greatly prevented students from going to campus directly. Virtual Tour, he continued, is not only used by new students. Existing students who miss their campus can also take advantage of the Virtual Tour via the pikmenfebunair.com .
"Hopefully new FEB UNAIR students can get to know the building and the facilities inside it better. "This Virtual Tour can also be used by fellow high school students who usually visit the FEB UNAIR Building," concluded Saad.
