PIH UNAIR - Universitas Airlangga is in mourning again. This time, UNAIR lost its best son on Thursday evening 30 April 2020. He was Drs. Ec. Haryanto Basoeni who breathed his last breath at 17.50 in the ICU Room at Darmo Hospital, Surabaya.
The figure who also serves as General Chair of PP IKA UA for the 2017-2021 period is a graduate of the Faculty of Economics class of 1972. He also served as Chair of IKAFE UA for the 2007-2012 period and Chair I of PP IKA UA 2012-2017.
Quoting a statement he made in the book UNAIR Alumni Traces, Haryanto Basoeni is a very simple figure. He never talked about his success in building his business. He also emphasized that what he had done was not comparable to many other business actors. According to him, in running a business he only has capital that is serious, honest and generous to other people who need it.
The man born in Gresik, December 5 1952, was also one of the UNAIR alumni who initiated and became one of the main donors for the establishment of the Ulul Azmi Mosque, Campus C UNAIR. Quoting a statement at the launch of the Ulul Azmi Mosque, Campus C UNAIR, he emphasized that the assets he actually owns are assets that are used to do good deeds in the way of Allah SWT.
UNAIR's work can be felt, especially in organizing and combining the roles of UNAIR alumni from various regions in Indonesia. One of them is the presence of the Ulul Azmi Mosque, Campus C UNAIR, which was fully established thanks to the strong support of UNAIR alumni.
Regarding his extraordinary role throughout his life, UNAIR Chancellor Prof. Nasih on a different occasion said that the figure of Haryanto Basoeni had his contribution and strong commitment to working with UNAIR top officials in bringing UNAIR on par with UI ITB UGM. Especially in the alumni sector.
Goodbye, Mr Drs. Ec Haryanto Basoeni, FE72 alumni.
