Supervising lecturers need to have adequate insight into various existing research methods, so that they can help students in their research. Students who come often already have research problems that must be guided by appropriate methods to answer them.
Wednesday, December 14 2016, KPS MM FEB Universitas Airlangga Dr. Gancar C. Premananto, was asked to share insights with Unitomo Surabaya lecturers regarding qualitative research methods. In the workshop which took place in Gayeng, the fun of conducting qualitative research was discussed. Researchers must try to be one with their research subjects.
In this event, Gancar provided material regarding spirituality in carrying out research. Gancar also stated that qualitative research was carried out in 600 AD, namely during the time of the Prophet Muhammad and the Caliphate, to gain new knowledge and to implement public policy.
It was also discussed that research for MM Unair students mostly uses an applied research approach with qualitative methods.
Events to share insights with other universities are nothing new. Previously, several Faculty of Economics at other universities such as UWM and UNESA had also invited both qualitative and experimental research methods.
