Abstract
The research aims to examine the influence of each independent variable of transformational leadership style and work environment on teacher performance with motivation as an intervening variable. Data in the research were collected using observation methods based on conditions in the field and interviews with respondents. The analytical tool used in the research is Partial Least Square analysis using SmartPLS. The results of the research show that transformational leadership style has a significantly positive effect on performance with a T-statistics value of 2.342, transformational leadership style has a significantly positive effect on motivation with a T-statistics value of 2.508, the work environment has no significant effect on performance with a T-statistics value of 0.012, The work environment has a significant effect on motivation with a T-statistics value of 6.033, motivation has no significant effect on performance with a T-statistics value of 1.474. Recommendations from the research are; (i) Transformational leadership style is important for increasing teacher motivation and performance at SMAK St Louis 1 Surabaya, (ii) Work environment variables and motivation have been proven to have no effect on teacher performance at SMAK St Louis 1 Surabaya, (iii) A comfortable and supportive environment work atmosphere can increase work motivation, (iv) Further develop the model carried out by researchers by adding other variables that are still closely related, for example organizational culture variables, competence, or other indicators, (v) As far as possible future researchers should conducting a questionnaire for PKG (Teacher Performance Assessment) so that later a better instrument will be obtained.
