Abstract
This research aims to find out whether work performance appraisals have an effect on job satisfaction and work morale of PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) employees in Bondowoso and Banyuwangi. The assessment of work performance in this research includes: the assessment method used, the factors used as the basis for the assessment and the official authorized to carry out the assessment. The sample for this research consisted of 40 employees of PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) who worked at the Bondowoso and Banyuwangi Post Offices starting from class IIa. To measure the effect of job performance assessment on job satisfaction and employee morale, Path Analisys was used with a significance level of (α) 5%. The results of the research show that at the Bondowoso Post Office the assessment method does not have a significant effect on job satisfaction, the assessment factors do not have a significant effect on job satisfaction and the assessing officer also does not have a significant effect on job satisfaction. Job satisfaction itself has a very significant effect on employee morale. Likewise, the assessment of work performance which consists of assessment methods, assessment factors and assessing officials partially has no effect on the work spirit of Bondowoso Post Office employees. At the Banyuwangi Post Office, the assessment method and appraiser partially did not have a significant effect on job satisfaction, while the assessment factors had a significant effect on job satisfaction. As is the case at the Bondowoso Post Office, job satisfaction also has a very significant effect on employee morale at the Banyuwangi Post Office. In the analysis of assessing work performance on work morale, it was proven that none of the assessment methods, assessment factors or assessing officials had a significant influence on the work spirit of Banyuwangi Post Office employees. This means that in this research there are other variables besides work performance assessments that influence job satisfaction and employee morale at PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) Bondowoso and Banyuwangi.
