Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of independent variables, namely sales growth rate, asset structure, company size, and operating leverage level both jointly and individually on the financial structure of food and beverage companies that are Go-Public on the Surabaya Stock Exchange. The method used in data collection is purposive sampling or judgment sampling, the selection of which is carried out using certain criteria. Data was obtained from 14 food and beverage companies for 5 (five) years from 1994 to 1998. To measure the influence of the independent variables together on the financial structure, the F-test was used with a significance level (alpha) of 5%. Meanwhile, to measure the influence of individual independent variables on the financial structure, the t-test was used with a significance level (alpha) of 5%. The research results show that together there is no significant influence on the company's financial structure. Meanwhile, individually, only company size has a significant influence on the company's financial structure. Meanwhile, the other 3 (three) variables, namely: sales growth rate, asset structure and operating leverage level, do not have a significant effect on the company's financial structure.
