Abstract

This research aims to analyze resistance to change based on a multidimensional concept (namely thoughts, feelings and behavior) with communication of change and personal valence as antecedents. This research involves PT BPRS Lantabur Tebuireng as the research object, where PT BPRS Lantabur Tebuireng is currently trying to fulfill the change plan. A quantitative approach was used in this research, where surveys were used as a procedure to collect data through questionnaires. The designed questionnaire was then distributed to 66 employees as research respondents. In addition, PLS-SEM is used as a research analysis method. The research results show that communication of change and personal valence as antecedents are able to predict all components of resistance to change (namely thoughts, feelings and behavior), and communication of change is also able to predict personal valence. Apart from that, personal valence is able to mediate the relationship between communication of change and the three components of resistance to change. Finally, this research also offers a number of implications, both theoretical and practical.

Keywords: resistance to change, multidimensional concept of resistance to change, communication of change, and personal valence
