Abstract
Based on preliminary studies conducted on several sources, IT (Technology and Information) professionals are a profession that is vulnerable to technostress. This is because IT professionals are directly involved in the IT field, so it is very possible for technostress to occur in them. The condition of technostress in IT professionals is shown by several indications such as techno complexity, techno invasion, techno uncertainty, techno overload and techno insecurity. However, despite indications of technostress conditions, in reality IT professionals continue to survive in the IT field. Therefore, it is important to dig deeper into how IT professionals overcome technostress within themselves so that they survive in the IT field. This study is a qualitative study, in accordance with the aim of the study, namely to explore deeper information regarding the management of technostress carried out by IT professionals, so that they are able to survive in the IT sector. Semi-structured interviews were used in this study to gather information from the interviewees. Data triangulation and member checking were used in this study as a strategy to validate the validity of the data. Meanwhile, to ensure reliability, this study uses transcript checking. The findings from this study provide information that there are two main categories in managing technostress carried out by IT professionals. These management strategies include problem focused coping and emotion focused coping. Problem focused coping includes self-improvisation as a way to overcome technological uncertainty and technological complexity, and determining a priority scale to overcome technological complexity.
