Abstract

Every employee has the hope of having a career in a company from the time they join until they retire. An employee will feel satisfied with his career if the employee feels the development of new skills for himself, balance between personal and work life, challenges, and the fulfillment of his goals. Apart from that, individual factors are also predictors that can influence career satisfaction, for example proactive personality. Because proactive individuals tend to be more active in making changes and fostering high career commitment, so someone who has high career commitment is guaranteed to feel career satisfaction too. In this study, 57 respondents were used who were obtained from distributing questionnaires via email using the census method by examining the entire population of XL Axiata employees in the eastern area who had permanent employee status. The research results show that Proactive personality has a significant effect on Career Commitment, organizational support for career development does not have a significant effect on Career Commitment, Proactive personality has a significant effect on Career Satisfaction, organizational support for career development has a significant effect on Career Satisfaction, career commitment has a significant effect on Career Satisfaction and career commitment were proven not to mediate the relationship between OSCD and career satisfaction. However, career commitment is proven to mediate the relationship between proactive personality and career satisfaction.
