Abstract

In the fit literature, the main emphasis is on the match between the individual's abilities and needs and what is provided by the job (person-job fit) as well as the related fit on the relationship between the values of the individual and the organization (person-organization fit). These two types of fit are a fundamental concern for individuals and organizations, because good person-job fit and personorganization fit can increase job satisfaction. Individual job satisfaction in the service sector involves emotional aspects which are influenced by the chosen emotional labor strategy, namely surface acting or deep acting. A number of empirical studies have proven that surface acting is negatively related to job satisfaction and deep acting is positively related to job satisfaction. Individuals who work in the service sector must be able to meet organizational demands in displaying the emotions desired by the organization, so that the job satisfaction they feel really depends on how they manage the emotions they feel and which must be displayed. This research aims to determine the influence of person-organization fit and person-job fit on job satisfaction through emotional labor (surface acting and deep acting) in nurses at RSI Jemursari Surabaya. This research uses a quantitative approach, with data collection methods through questionnaires. The sampling technique used was census sampling with a total of 60 nurses. The data analysis technique uses Partial Least Square (PLS) which is processed using SmartPLS 3.0 software. The research results show that the effect of person-organization fit on job satisfaction is not significant, and only person-job fit has an effect on job satisfaction. The mediating influence of surface acting and deep acting on the relationship between person-organization fit and person-job ft on job satisfaction is proven, except that the mediating role of deep acting on the relationship between person-organization fit and job satisfaction is not significant.
