Abstract
This research aims to examine the impact of board commissioner diversity on the dividend payout ratio in non-financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The diversity of the board of commissioners is measured by gender diversity, citizenship diversity and tenure diversity. The sample used in the research was 212 samples of companies studied for the gender diversity of the board of commissioners. The research sample for the board of commissioners' nationality diversity variable consisted of 203 company samples. The diversity variable for the tenure of the board of commissioners has a research sample of 197 sample companies. This research takes data samples from non-financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2012-2016 period. The research results show that board gender, nationality, and tenure are positively related to the dividend payout ratio. In addition, government ownership positively moderates the relationship between gender diversity, tenure diversity and dividend payout ratio. However, the moderating role of government ownership does not remain significant between nationality diversity and dividend payout ratio.
