Abstract
PT. Pertamina is deemed necessary to implement innovation habits within its corporate environment because the oil and gas industry is currently experiencing turmoil. The current turmoil experienced in the oil and gas industry is the decline in world oil prices and also fluctuations in the value of the rupiah (Pertamina Annual Report 2015). This is further reinforced by PT's annual report data. Pertamina 2015 which showed a decline in business income and sales. This trend shows that PT. Pertamina needs a new breakthrough that can make this company survive in the dynamics of the current volatile oil and gas conditions. Innovation is needed to keep this company, which is a state-owned enterprise, from continuing to compete in the global oil and gas industry. Pertamina needs innovation to improve PT's performance. Pertamina again made high profits. Pertamina is currently implementing BTP (Breakthrough Project), BTP as a transformation stage for Pertamina to realize the vision of 'Becoming a World Class National Energy Company' and the aspirations of Asian Energy Champion 2025. Innovation has enabled Pertamina to survive the strong challenges of the business environment in the last two years. This research found that proactive personality provides benefits for innovative behavior at PT Pertamina MOR V Jatim Balinus. Based on a survey of employees working in several divisions of one of the state-owned companies in Indonesia, this research found that increasing task conflict explains the positive relationship between proactive personality and innovative behavior. This process is negatively moderated by job autonomy, so that the influence of proactive personality on task conflict will weaken if employees feel job autonomy. The research results show that job autonomy at PT. Pertamina MOR V Jatim Balinus can weaken task conflicts among proactive employees. The more autonomous an employee's work is, the less often the employee will experience task conflict.
