Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of monitoring control and job rotation policies in an effort to prevent commitment escalation behavior. This research is experimental research. The experimental design of this research is 2x2 (between subjects), namely monitoring control (available/absent) and job rotation policy (available/absent), with the research variables Monitoring Control and Job Rotation Policy. This study has 4 (four) types of cases which were distributed to participants randomly. Data collection used the purposive sampling method. Participants in this research were managers in a company who had served as managers for at least 1 year. The number of research participants was 80 (eighty) managers. The hypothesis testing technique uses Anova. The results of this research are that monitoring control and job rotation policies influence commitment escalation behavior. The results show that managers who received information that monitoring control and a job rotation policy would be implemented chose to stop the project when they found out that the project they were running was losing money. The novelty in this research when compared to previous research lies in the research participants, where this research uses manager participants in a company. The implications of this research are in the form of suggestions for companies on the need to implement monitoring control and job rotation policies within the company so that employee behavior is in accordance with the company's vision and mission
