Abstract
This research is based on the demands for an organization to innovate and complete the responsibilities given, driven by the proactive personality of the employee. The purpose of this research is to analyze how a proactive personality in employees will impact the involvement of creative performance in the organization and performance in carrying out tasks. Apart from that, closeness to the leader will be a mediating variable in this research. The closeness of the leader here functions to see the extent of the impact the leader has on the employees. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. This research uses primary data from 52 employees where data was obtained using a questionnaire distributed to marketing employees at PT. Telkomsel Regional Surabaya. The statistical tool in this research uses Partial Least Square (SmartPLS 2.0). Based on the research results, it shows that leader member exchange partially mediates the relationship between proactive personality on task performance and creative work involvement.
