Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the influence of motivational factors on the work performance of operational employees at a small formal hand-rolled kretek cigarette industry (IKF SKT). The research technique was carried out by conducting surveys, interviews and filling out questionnaires for all IKF SKT cigarette companies in Malang Municipality. The number of companies that existed at the time the field research was conducted was 43 companies, consisting of 23 companies that were still active (14 Large SKT IKFs and 9 Medium SKT IKFs), 1 company was no longer considered a small industry, 1 company moved to Malang Regency, 1 The address of the company could not be found, and 17 companies were not actively conducting business. This research was conducted, first, to look for the relationship between the independent variables of motivational factors, namely physiological needs, security needs, social needs, esteem needs, and self-actualization needs with the dependent variable, namely work performance, secondly, to look at the most important need factors. dominant of the five research variables, and third to see whether there are differences in work performance and work motivation between operational employees of IKF SKT Large and IKF SKT Medium. Data analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression followed by data processing using the microstat program. The research results at a real level of alpha = 0.05 show that, first, together the five independent variables have a significant influence on the work performance of company operational employees as indicated by the multiple determination coefficient value of 0.9120 or 91.20 percent, secondly , that the physiological needs factor is the factor that has the largest value with r" partial being 0.9091 or 90.91 percent, and thirdly that the calculation results to see the differences in work performance and work motivation of operational employees between Large SKT IKF and Medium SKT IKF show The work performance value is f count (3, 024) < f table (4, 3248) and work motivation is f count (3.927 < f table (4.3248). The conclusion, first, is that the five independent variables used in the research together the same has a contribution of 91.20 percent to the dependent variable of work performance, secondly, the physiological needs variable is the dominant variable as indicated by a partial r² value of 90.91 percent, and thirdly there is no difference in work performance and work motivation between IKF SKT operational employees Large and Medium IKF SKT shown in F count for both work performance and work motivation which are still in the F table acceptance area.
