Abstract

As a Dutch heritage state-owned company located in the countryside, feudal and aristocratic culture is still strongly felt in all business activities of the Semboro Sugar Factory - PT. Perkebunan Nusantara XI (Persero). With the background of the implementation of employee performance assessments for groups I - II (executors) in the Semboro Sugar Factory Installation section, this analytical descriptive qualitative research aims to evaluate current employee performance assessments to develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for permanent mechanical employees in groups I - II section PG Installation. Semboro. The results of the evaluation of the current performance of implementing employees are using a blank (trait system method) and a ranking system (comparison system method, precisely paired comparisons). There are several disadvantages, as well as several advantages to this system. This results in the actual performance of the ratees not being reflected. However, almost the majority of raters want each ratee to have KPIs that are in line with the company's targets. Using the goal oriented system method, KPIs are produced in the form of: 1) frequency of machine breakdowns, 2) station stopping hours, 3) completion time for machine repairs before milling, and also 4) absenteeism (discipline). By implementing the results of this research, it is hoped that the performance appraisal of permanent mechanical employees in groups I - II in the Semboro Sugar Factory Installation section, can be more effective and make the company's strategic goals, which are usually still vague for implementing employees, more concrete, thereby speeding up the organizational learning process.
