Abstract

Gallons are an important factor in planning and controlling the production of drinking water companies. The number of gallons returned to the factory will affect the amount the company produces and sends to consumers in the following period. Gallons returned to the factory can disrupt quality, quantity and time. Inventory and production planning for drinking water gallons must be done properly for service levels that meet demand. This research was carried out with the aim of creating a reverse logistics system for empty gallons available to customers that is able to integrate the gallon return rate and the level of product demand. This research was carried out using a planning approach starting from field observations to system verification. The modeling was developed from three main models, second, returns from the actual gallon simulation data with the time series method model and the last is the gallon inventory estimation model. In addition, the system is able to estimate the number of gallons returned. The reverse logistics system can also determine the quality of the gallons that will be used for production, this is done to identify the number of gallons that can be reused. So that procurement can determine the number of gallons to be ordered.
