Abstract

Along with the changes in top leadership that occurred within the Wringin Anom - Situbondo Sugar Factory and the fluctuating profits/losses that PG Wringin Anom - Situbondo obtained over a period of five years, this is an illustration of PG Wringin Anom's performance. Changes in top leadership bring different leadership styles which influence job satisfaction which can impact employee performance. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the influence of transformational leadership style on employee performance through job satisfaction as an intervening variable. The hypothesis tested is H1: transformational leadership style has a significant and influential effect on employee performance. H2: transformational leadership style has a significant influence on employee performance through job satisfaction. To test this problem, questionnaires were distributed to 57 permanent employees of PG Wringin Anom, sampling using saturated sampling or census. The collected data was then analyzed via SPSS. 20.0 with path analysis. The results of path analysis are to determine how big the path coefficient is between the direct influence of transformational leadership style and employee performance and the indirect influence of transformational leadership style on employee performance through job satisfaction. It was shown that the results of the path coefficient analysis obtained were 0.439 for the direct influence test, and 0.330 for the indirect influence through job satisfaction. The total influence of transformational leadership style on employee performance is 0.439+0.330 = 0.769. From the path analysis, it was concluded that the transformational leadership style had a significant and influential effect on employee performance. And the transformational leadership style has a significant and influential effect on employee performance through job satisfaction.
