Abstract

This research aims to find the effect of work-family conflict on the work performance of firefighters at the Surabaya City Fire Department. Firefighters have irregular working hours and the risks they face are very large and involve the lives of other people, so conflicts are prone to occur among firefighters. With the survey, questionnaires were distributed to all UPTS in the Surabaya Fire Department, totaling 5 UPTDs, and 190 respondents were obtained. The results show that work-family conflict and family-work conflict have a negative influence on officers' work performance. Another finding from this research is that there is a moderating effect of supervisor/superior support to weaken the effect of work-family conflict on work performance. Meanwhile, partner support can weaken the negative effects of family-work conflict on work performance.
