Abstract
Global competition in today's business world requires companies to have a competitive advantage over their competitors. One effort to create competitive advantage is through increasing efficiency, effectiveness and customer satisfaction. Increasing process efficiency and effectiveness can be done through re-engineering business processes that are considered less efficient and effective. Through business process reengineering, processes that are considered non-value added are eliminated and improved. Procurement, as one of the company's business processes, has an important role in creating efficiency and effectiveness because 80% of production costs are obtained in this process, so that it is currently the company's main focus in increasing competitive advantage. Business process reengineering is a step in radically redesigning business processes to make significant improvements to company performance indicators. The improved performance indicators are speed, effectiveness and cost efficiency. In order to achieve this goal, through the procurement process, processes that are deemed not to have added value need to be eliminated and refined through business process re-engineering so that operational processes can run efficiently and effectively. Technology in business process reengineering has an important role in business process reengineering as a support because of its ability to overcome time, distance and communication constraints. By re-engineering business processes and utilizing the role of information technology, it is hoped that the procurement process can be carried out efficiently and effectively so that the company's competitive advantage can be achieved.
