Abstract

Safety climate not only influences working environmental conditions but can also influence employee behavior in carrying out safety measures, apart from that, knowledge about safety and employee motivation also play a role in reducing the number of work accidents. This research aims to analyze and prove the existence of direct and indirect influences between safety climate. on safety performance through safety knowledge and safety motivation. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 71 production department operational employees, with permanent status and working for at least 1 year at PT. Surabaya Docks and Shipping. Data analysis uses Path Analysis with the SPSS version 15 program. The findings of this research are that safety climate has a direct and significant effect on safety performance, safety climate has an indirect and significant effect on safety performance through safety knowledge and safety climate has an indirect effect on safety performance through safety motivation.
