Abstract

In the business world and in an organization, there is a tendency for career to be a measure of an employee's performance. Career development is about employee development that benefits both the individual and the organization, and is a complex process. Companies that have career development programs are believed to be able to improve the performance of their employees. In a successful career, commitment is required. Someone who is committed to their career will not easily lose to the challenges that face them in the future. Meanwhile, career satisfaction is an important factor in career success which has been conceptualized as consisting of both extrinsic and intrinsic results. Thus, good career development will be able to increase career commitment and career satisfaction so as to realize more optimal employee performance. Regarding the impact that can be caused by implementing a career development program on employee performance, this research will attempt to examine the direct influence of career development on employee performance and the indirect influence through career commitment and career satisfaction at PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk Jombang Branch. This type of research is causal descriptive research, with statistical testing tools using Path Analysis. The results of the analysis show that career development does not have a direct effect on employee performance, but has an indirect effect on employee performance through career commitment of 0.155 and through career satisfaction. of 0.148.
