Abstract
This research aims to find out how zakat funds are managed and distributed in economic empowerment. This research uses qualitative research methods. The analysis technique used is descriptive with a case study method where this research uses several data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this research show that the LAZISMU amil has allocated zakat in the BMW program very well as can be seen from the productive zakat distribution system that structured, starting from coaching, to assistance during empowerment, as well as appropriate operational standards. The funds used in the program are funds obtained from zakat. If the zakat funds are not deemed sufficient, then the amil will take the funds in the infaq so that there are enough to be distributed and immediately donated, then the mustahik will be given ten months to return the business capital assistance that has been provided. loaned out. The empowerment program was able to improve the mustahik economy due to the reduction in members assisted by the Bina Mandiri Wirausaha program. Success in running the program is the same as success in utilizing ZIS funds to empower the poor.
