Abstract
Shuttle mobility is something common among commuter workers in urban Indonesia. However, shuttle mobility has a negative effect on the perpetrators. Stress is one of the mental health implications caused by shuttle mobility. This research aims to test and analyze the influence of travel factors and demographic-socio-economic characteristics on the psychological health conditions of commuter workers in Jabodetabek, Mebesar, Sarbagita, Greater Bandung and Gerbangkertosusila. Travel factors include travel time, distance traveled, mode of transportation and driver status. Meanwhile, demographic socio-economic characteristics include age, gender, marital status, education and income. Using BPS commuter survey data, this research tests the causal relationship using logistic regression analysis. The research results show that travel factors influence the possibility of commuter workers experiencing psychological health problems due to shuttle mobility, with different determinants at each research locus. Meanwhile, the demographic-socio-economic characteristics that influence the dependent variable are gender and education. The important finding from this research is that the main mode of transportation that causes the most stress in commuter workers is the car, while the mode that does not cause stress is the train.
