Interdicipilnary Scientific Competition For Nation Development , hereinafter referred to as "ISCOOL 2018"
The National Essay Competition Interdisciplinary Scientific Competition For Nation Development , hereinafter referred to as "ISCOOL 2018" is one of the work programs of the ERC (English and Research Community) Faculty of Social Sciences, Semarang State University which aims to increase student creativity and increase student interest in the field of scientific work. " ISCOOL 2018 " itself has the theme "Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals in the Global Era", with this essay competition students are expected to be able to contribute in the form of ideas or thoughts in written form. More than that, it is also hoped that students can explore the potential that exists within themselves.
This event took place from Thursday to Sunday, 25-28 October 2018. The delegate from Universitas Airlangga was Tita Novita Sari from the 2015 Islamic Economics Study Program.
On October 25, the participants began arriving in Semarang. The committee began its task of picking up participants from various pick-up points/places, namely Ahmad Yani International Airport, Semarang, Tawang Station, Poncol Station, Terboyo Terminal, Ungaran Corner Terminal. After that, the participants rested and continued with a technical meeting in the evening at Wisma Menorah.
The next day, October 26 2018, participants entered the main event, namely the presentation of the essay finalists. The finalists were 14 essay participants who successfully passed the essay selection out of 154 total participants throughout Indonesia. The main event was held at the LP2M Building, 3rd Floor, Semarang State University. The event began with entertainment, remarks from various parties, namely the chairman of the committee, chairman of the ERC, as well as the dean of FIS, and prayers.
After the finalists enter the presentation room. Presentations are carried out in turns with random sequence numbers. The assessment was carried out by 3 judges who were lecturers at Semarang State University. The presentation was held until 16.00 then the participants returned to Wisma Menoreh to rest.
The next event was on October 27, namely an International Discussion with the theme The Role of Youth to Achieving SDGs 2030. The event was attended by UNNES exchange program students from various countries, namely Vietnam, Madagascar, India, China and Columbia. The event was held at the LP2M Building, 3rd Floor, Semarang State University. After that, it continued with the announcement of the winners and closing. The Universitas Airlangga delegation ranked 7th out of 14 finalists.
The last day was October 28 2018. Participants visited various historical places in Semarang, namely Lawang Sewu, Sampokong. After that the participants returned to their respective campuses.
Every race fighter is a winner, because he succeeded in fighting his own fear to fight on the race field facing many competitors.
The race is not just about winning or losing. But about the process of forging oneself in every struggle in it. About an experience and a valuable relationship in it.
