Doctoral News of Management Sciences(Hima Dim News) Wednesday, February 19, 2025, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB Unair) held a new student welcoming event for the Doctoral Sciences (DIM) program. The event which took place in Room 605 aims to introduce new students to the academic environment, effective study strategies, and student organizations that support their academic journey.

This activity is in line with the commitment of FEB UNAIR in supporting the goals of sustainable development (Sustainable Development Goals - SDGs), especially SDG 4 (Quality Education) by ensuring learning systems that support graduation on time, SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth) by preparing doctoral students as future leaders who contribute to economic growth, and SDG 17 (partnership to achieve goals) inclusive.

The event began at 08.00 WIB with the opening by the host (MC). Furthermore, all participants sang the national anthem of Indonesia Raya and Hymn Airlangga as a form of respect for national values ​​and alma mater. The speech was given by the Coordinator of the Management Science Doctoral Study Program - Prof. Dr. Tanti Handriana, SE, M.Si., who emphasized the importance of discipline and innovation in management research.

Furthermore, the Chairperson of Hima Dim, Fariza Rachman, gave motivation to new students to be active in the organization and establish collaboration with fellow students and lecturers. On this occasion, he also introduced the Doctoral Student Association of Management Sciences (HIMA DIM UNAIR) as a forum that supports the acceleration of student graduation through various academic and mentoring programs.

The main session in this event is an academic discussion on study strategies and graduation on time, including the introduction of FEB Airlangga University and available facilities. This presentation aims to help students understand the lecture system, research methodology, and resources that can be utilized in their study journey.

Before the event was closed, the question and answer session took place with active interaction between new students and presenters. Various questions about research strategies, journal publications, and mentoring systems are answered enthusiastically by the speakers. The event ended with a suave session, which became a place for new students to network with seniors and lecturers to build supportive academic environment.

Overall, Welcoming New Students Dimuair 2025 took place smoothly and successfully. New students get a better understanding of the academic system, study strategies, and the importance of building networks in the academic community.

As a recommendation for the next HIMA DIM work program, similar events can be developed by presenting special sessions related to international collaborative research opportunities, publication strategies in reputable journals, and workshops for the use of research software.
