research camp feb unai 2024rThe Islamic Economics Doctoral Student Association (HIMA S3 IEI) Universitas Airlangga is again holding Research Camp activities which aim to deepen doctoral students' understanding of research methodology, especially in qualitative and quantitative approaches. It is hoped that this activity will be able to answer the need for in-depth knowledge about when and how these two approaches are applied in Islamic economic research. This activity will be held for two days, from 23 to 24 May 2024, at Villa Silver, Trawas, Mojokerto. Participants will follow a series of material from two main sources who have high competence in the field of Islamic economics, namely: Rifki Ismal, Ph.D – Deputy Director of Bank Indonesia, who will discuss the application of quantitative methodology in Islamic economic research and how to use it to produce useful analysis. strong and accurate. Prof. Raditya Sukmana – Professor Universitas Airlangga , who will explain the importance of qualitative methodology in understanding Islamic economic phenomena more deeply and comprehensively.

For two full days, Research Camp participants will be invited to understand the basic differences between these two methodological approaches. They will also be guided in learning when qualitative or quantitative methods are more appropriate, depending on their chosen research topic. In this way, doctoral students can integrate the most appropriate methodologies to answer their research questions more effectively. In recent years, Islamic economic research has experienced rapid development, especially along with the growth of the sharia financial industry, zakat, waqf, and the halal economic sector. However, there is still a gap in the use of relevant and in-depth research methodology. It is hoped that this Research Camp can overcome these challenges by providing practical guidance in managing data, both qualitative and quantitative, so as to produce quality research and contribute significantly to the development of Islamic economics in Indonesia and the world.

This activity does not only focus on theory, but also invites participants to be directly involved in case studies, so that they can apply the knowledge gained in real contexts. This is very important for doctoral students who are completing their dissertation or who want to learn more about applicable research methodologies in the field of Islamic economics. This Research Camp is open to all Islamic Economics doctoral students and is expected to be a forum for them to improve their research skills, deepen their understanding of methodology, and produce research that is better and relevant to the needs of the times.
