Friday-Saturday, 9-10 November 2018 Universitas Airlangga delegates took part in the 2018 National Accounting and Tax Olympiad (NATO) competition.  
 
NATO is a competition in the field of accounting and taxation held by the Bandung State Polytechnic Accounting Student Association. The competition was held for two days, namely 9 to 10 November 2018 at the Tonny Soewandito Hall, Bandung State Polytechnic. The aim of holding this event is to equip and strengthen competitiveness as well as improve the competence and quality of intellectuals so that they are ready to face the era of the Digital Economy.
 
On the first day, the preliminary and semifinal stages were held. The preliminary stage consists of two sessions, namely a session for working on cycle questions and multiple choice questions which are done individually (independently). From this stage, the scores of each member are accumulated and the nine teams with the highest scores are selected to proceed to the semifinal stage. At the semifinal stage, nine teams were grouped into three batches to work on the types of questions according to their respective batches. The team with the highest score in each batch has the right to advance to the final stage which consists of a presentation and quiz session. 
 
On the second day, the final stage was held in conjunction with the National Seminar "Inspiris Talk: Business Young Entrepreneur" with speakers Haykal Kamil, Angga Nugraha, and Maulidan Isbar.

Universitas Airlangga delegated a team consisting of Patrick Aloysius Wijaya, Tanaya Devi Kemala Agni, and Fince Layadi to take part in the competition. The team then succeeded in winning 3rd place in the National Accounting and Tax Olympiad. It is hoped that the team's achievements will be an inspiration for other students.
