Accounting Knowing Better is a work program from the Universitas Airlangga Accounting Student Association in the form of a seminar whose aim is to introduce new students to know more about what the accounting major is.
Participant registration opens at 08.30. The enthusiasm of the participants consisting of new students to attend the AKB event was very visible, they were seen queuing in a group in front of the Fadjar Hall to register and get snacks.
After registration, the event began with the provision of material by our lecturer, Mrs. Niluh Putu Dian Rosalina Handayani Narsa, or familiarly known as Mrs. Oca. On this occasion, Mrs. Oca provided information about the academic facilities available at Universitas Airlangga Accounting and explained what the universal field of accounting is. The provision of interesting material accompanied by a few jokes from Mrs. Oca made the participants unable to look away from the stage in the Fadjar Hall.
After Mrs. Oca finished giving the material, it was Mr. Anak Agung Gede Taman's turn, or usually called Pak Agung, who showed his skills in filling in the material. On this occasion, Mr. Agung explained the job prospects of accountants in Public Accounting Firms and explained the important role of accountants in overcoming every problem that exists in the company. This time the participant was calmer and tended to be serious in providing the material because he was a Senior Manager in Ernst & Young's Assurance Services, from his position alone it was clear that he was very senior. His demeanor really showed his experience and professionalism, making all participants, including the committee, calmer in paying attention to what he was saying.
After Mr. Agung finished giving the material, it was Mr. Firdaus' turn to show off in front of the stage to give the final material at AKB 2018. Mr. Firdaus Aditya Rizqi, usually called Mr. Firdaus, is a Banking Supervisor at the Financial Services Authority (OJK) who is relatively young, so in His presentation of the material could be more loose than the previous two speakers. On this occasion, he provided information regarding the job prospects of accountants in government, explained the important role of accountants in government, and provided information regarding future economic predictions which will involve the role of an accountant. The participants were also carried away by the atmosphere brought by him, so that there were often moments when the entire Fadjar Hall, including the committee inside, laughed because of the jokes he made.
After the three speakers finished providing material, a question session was opened for participants for all three speakers at once. It was seen that the enthusiasm of the participants was high so that the Moderator and MC who controlled this question session seemed confused about who should ask first. Everyone who asked questions in this session received a souvenir from the committee, and it was also not uncommon for speakers to give souvenirs that they had prepared themselves beforehand.
After the question session was over, the moderator provided conclusions regarding what had been conveyed by the three speakers. The series of AKB 2018 events closed with the presentation of plaques to the three speakers as a token of thanks from the committee for their willingness to take the time to attend and participate in the AKB 2018 event. The participants seemed happy because the 7 thousand they paid at the beginning felt very useful for their presence. at AKB 2018 which was supported by great speakers who were able to broaden their insight and motivate them to navigate their new life on campus, in the Bachelor of Accounting study program Universitas Airlangga .
