The Doctor of Islamic Economics program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga, was established in 2008 and explores and advances economics, finance, and business grounded in sharia principles. The program is currently preparing for AACSB international accreditation, reflecting a commitment to strengthening academic quality and international competitiveness. Students may choose a study specialization in Islamic investment and financial institutions, Islamic marketing management and the halal industry, ZISWAF economics, or Islamic economic thought. Graduates are prepared to conduct research contributing to new concepts in Islamic economics, encompassing empirical knowledge, theory, methodology, and models, particularly in Islamic Social Finance, at the national and international levels.

  1. Students can perform ethical principles to research responsibly.
  2. Students is able to display critically think and analyze problems by comprehensively and deeply linking theories and real-world evidence.
  3. Students are able to reconstruct Islamic Economic knowledge with transdisciplinary approach and relevant to global issue and sustainability.
  4. Student are able to design research which create impactful and innovative solution and relevant to global issue and sustainability.
