Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of corporate governance structure, namely: managerial ownership, institutional ownership, independent commissioners, and size of the board of commissioners on financial distress. The research control variables are leverage and company size. The sample used was non-financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) for the period 2012 - 2016. This research used a purposive sampling method involving 637 observations using binary logistic regression analysis techniques. The research results show that institutional ownership and the size of the board of commissioners have a significant negative effect on financial distress, while managerial ownership and independent commissioners do not have a significant effect on financial distress.
