Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students are able to understand the economic and management concepts of ZISWAQ, describe the basic concepts and philosophy of ZISWAQ's position, understand the concept of Zakat in Microeconomics, understand the concept of Zakat in Macroeconomics, understand the functions and management of zakat institutions: Collection and distribution, understand the functions and management of zakat institutions : Utilization of Zakat and Productive Zakat, understand the best practice of zakat management in various countries and Zakat Management Standards, understand the legal basis and history of waqf, understand the role of waqf management institutions, understand the concept of Productive Waqf, understand various Waqf innovations, understand best practices in waqf management in various states and Waqf Management Standards, understand the concept of istibdal Waqf, understand contemporary issues in the management of waqf assets.

Course content

This course equips students to study the economics and management of Zakat, Infaq, Alms and Waqf (ZISWAF) in the context of macro, micro, and development economics. The topics taught in this course include ZISWAF in macro, micro, economic development, its position in Islamic financial institutions, and regulation and institutional management of ZISWAF.
