Learning outcomes of the course unit

After taking this course students are able to:

  1. Explain the basic concepts and application of the Theory of Public Economics and Regional Finance.
  2. Explain the phenomenon of public economy and regional finance, and be able to explain the relationship between variables in the public economy.
  3. Analyze the symptoms and phenomena in financial policies and central and local governments.

Course content

This course focuses on measuring performance and the role of central and local governments in the economy. Furthermore, this course discusses various public policies, both related to the expenditure side and the income side and relating them to indicators of welfare in the community. This course also discusses the political economy of central and local government budget policies.
