ACCESSORY SCIENTIFIC WEEK

ACCESSORY SCIENTIFIC WEEK

Quality education is a key pillar of sustainable development and has become a priority on both national and global agendas, in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number 4. Efforts to improve the quality of education are not only the responsibility of the government, but also involve various parties such as the private sector, educational institutions, and the wider community. This is important because the quality of education significantly determines the quality of human resources (HR), which ultimately contributes to inclusive and sustainable economic growth (SDGs 8). Katadata data from 2023 shows that only 10.15% of Indonesia's population successfully completed education up to tertiary level, indicating persistent challenges in access and quality of education that have the potential to widen social disparities (SDGs 10). On the other hand, the low enrollment rate in higher education also hampers innovation and the development of human infrastructure that is competitive in modern industry (SDGs 9).
To address these challenges, the role of Agents of Change such as students is crucial in driving positive change in the education sector. The Association of Sharia Economics Studies (AcSES), as a student organization at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga, demonstrates its commitment to supporting the achievement of SDGs through various work programs that support quality education and competency development. Programs such as PILAR (AcSESOR Scientific Week) are a strategic means to improve the intellectual quality and skills of members, while bridging relationships between students across campuses to enrich insights and reduce knowledge gaps between regions. PILAR also specifically contributes to the achievement of SDGs number 17 (Partnerships to Achieve Goals), through teamwork that trains participants to think critically, work together, and find solutions to Islamic economic problems collectively. Thus, this program is not only a forum for academic improvement, but also a driver of innovation, collaboration, and reduction of socio-economic inequality through education.
AcSESOR Scientific Week (PILAR) will be held on:
