IMPROVING STUDENTS' ACADEMIC CAPACITY THROUGH CHANNELS: ACSES 2026 JOURNAL REVIEW PROGRAM

(AcSES NEWS) In order to improve the scientific culture as well as the analytical and academic writing skills of students, the AcSES Reasoning Student Activity Unit (UKMF) of the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga held the KANAL (Journal Review) AcSES 2026 work program which was implemented in two stages, namely external and internal activities.

KANAL activities began with an external webinar held online via Zoom on Friday, April 10, 2026. The webinar, themed "Accelerating Green Sukuk from Sustainability Reports to Publishable Research," aimed to provide participants with a basic understanding of scientific article analysis and the systematic research process. The event included presentations by keynote speakers and an interactive discussion session, which drew enthusiastic participants.

Following the external phase, the KANAL program continues with an internal phase involving AcSES members in the scientific paper development process. This phase begins with a kick-off activity, team formation, and research topic brainstorming. Next, participants undertake a step-by-step writing process, from developing an introduction, literature review, research methods, to discussion and conclusions.

Throughout the process, participants also undergo several stages of revision and discussion to refine their research findings. This series of internal activities continues until a full paper , ready for publication in a scientific journal.

Throughout the KANAL 2026 series, participants gained not only a theoretical understanding of journal analysis but also practical experience in compiling systematic, research-based scientific papers. This program embodies the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in the fields of education and research.

The success of this activity is expected to encourage students to be more active in producing quality scientific work and contributing to the development of science, particularly in the field of Islamic economics. Furthermore, KANAL serves as a strategic platform for students to develop critical, collaborative, and innovative thinking skills.

By implementing this program, AcSES once again demonstrates its commitment to producing a superior and competitive generation of academics, who are able to make real contributions to society.
