(AcSes NEWS) – The Creative Media Division of the AcSES Reasoning Student Activity Unit (UKMF Penalaran) of the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga successfully held a Design Class activity on Saturday, March 14, 2026, online via Zoom Meeting. This activity was attended by more than 40 participants from FEB UNAIR students, UNAIR general students, and participants from outside the campus who are interested in graphic design and creative media. This program was created in response to the need to improve design skills in the rapidly developing digital era.
The Design Class aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the fundamentals of graphic design and illustration, as well as career development opportunities in the creative media field. Featuring experienced speakers, the event is designed to be not only theoretical but also practical through practical sessions and design challenges.
The event was interactive and enthusiastic. It began with an opening session and welcoming remarks, followed by presentations by speakers who shared their experiences and insights into the world of professional design. Participants actively engaged in the discussion and Q&A sessions, demonstrating a strong interest in developing skills in this field.
"Through this Design Class, we want to provide a focused learning platform for students to develop their design skills and understand the monetization opportunities in this field," said Muhammad Ismail Zuhair, the event's organizing committee.
Furthermore, this activity provided participants with the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained through the design challenge. Several participants uploaded their work as a form of hands-on application of the material presented. This demonstrates that the activity was not only informative but also encouraged participant productivity and creativity.
This Design Class activity contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth. By providing access to applicable design skills learning, this activity helps improve students' competencies in non-academic fields relevant to the needs of the creative industry.
This activity also supports SDG 10 (Reduced Inequality) by providing open access to learning for students from various backgrounds, both from FEB UNAIR and the general public.
Overall, the Design Class ran smoothly according to the planned schedule and successfully achieved its participation target. This activity is expected to be a first step for students in developing design skills relevant to the current needs of the creative industry.
In the future, the UKMF Penalaran AcSES FEB UNAIR is expected to continue to present adaptive and innovative programs to support the development of student competencies, both in academic and non-academic aspects.
