Tutorial Design is a visual skills training program organized by the Communication and Information Bureau of the Undergraduate Economics Student Association, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga. Carrying the theme "Visual Alchemy: Turning Simple Tools into Extraordinary Art", this program is designed to facilitate creative potential, improve visual literacy and conceptual thinking (design thinking), and encourage students' digital independence in the era of global competition through mastery of Visual Communication Design.
The 2026 Design Tutorial will be held online on Sunday, August 30, 2026, through the Zoom Meeting platform. The primary target audience for this activity is active undergraduate students of Economics, Faculty of Economics, Universitas Airlangga. This program was selected based on the urgent need for students to master vibrant skills to package visual ideas for promotional media, business presentations, and branding, while minimizing the gap in limited technical design skills among students.
As the main activity, Tutorial Design 2026 featured presentation sessions, practical tutorials, and interactive discussions with experienced mentors utilizing the Canva platform. This activity focused on transforming simple tools into highly aesthetic and communicative visual works. The success of this main activity was determined by the successful presentation of the material, hands-on application by participants, and a Q&A session moderated by the MC.
As supporting activities, this work program includes a recapitulation of attendance lists, completion of feedback questionnaires at the end of the event, distribution of digital certificates, and documentation of the event. These supporting activities aim to gauge participant satisfaction, evaluate the effectiveness of the materials, and strengthen the organization's documentation archive.
The overall success indicators of the 2026 Tutorial Design activity include the implementation of the event on time according to schedule, the active participation of at least 75 participants from among Economics students, the achievement of evaluation recapitulation through feedback questionnaires, and effective budget management without experiencing a deficit.
Through the implementation of Tutorial Design 2026, this work program is expected to be an inclusive means of honing students' visual competencies, providing added value in the academic and professional fields, and producing a young generation that is independent, creative, and ready to innovate in the digital era.
