BEM FRIENDS (SOBEM) 2026

The Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga (BEM FEB UNAIR) presents the SOBEM (Sobat BEM) work program as a means of introducing new students to the world of organizations. This program is designed as a first step for students to gain organizational experience and discover suitable interests and talents through direct involvement in various bureaus and departments within BEM FEB UNAIR. SOBEM will be implemented for three months and will be a learning space that is applicable, interactive, and full of meaningful experiences.

SOBEM is an organizational internship program that provides new students with the opportunity to become directly involved in the work dynamics of BEM FEB UNAIR. During the program, participants will join a bureau or department of their choice, enabling them to understand the organization's workflow, coordination system, and responsibilities in implementing work programs. Furthermore, participants will receive training in self-development, including leadership, communication, time management, and teamwork.

As a platform for self-development, SOBEM focuses not only on providing organizational work experience but also encourages participants to explore their potential more deeply. Through this exploration process, new students are expected to identify their strengths, interests, and the direction of self-development they wish to achieve during their studies. Thus, SOBEM is a strategic first step in developing students who are active, adaptive, and ready to contribute.

In addition to providing benefits to participants, the implementation of SOBEM also plays a role in supporting the organizational regeneration process within the BEM FEB UNAIR. This program serves as a means to recruit and prepare qualified prospective functionaries with a sound understanding of the organization and the ability to contribute optimally in the future. Through active involvement during the program, participants are expected to develop a sense of belonging to the organization and foster a spirit of collaboration.

SOBEM also aligns with the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth. By providing access to learning experiences outside the classroom, developing practical skills, and fostering early work readiness, this program contributes to creating competent human resources ready to face global challenges. Furthermore, the organizational experience gained is also crucial for building professionalism and a work ethic.

Through the SOBEM program, new students are expected to take advantage of this opportunity to explore their potential, expand their network, and gain valuable organizational experience. With this program, BEM FEB UNAIR is committed to continuously providing an inclusive, inspiring, and impactful learning environment for student development in the future.
