(FEB NEWS) The Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga successfully held a research dissemination event titled "Financing Disability Inclusion in Higher Education: The Case of Indonesia," held in Room 205, 2nd Floor, FEB UNAIR, on Tuesday, April 14. This event was a collaboration between FEB UNAIR and the University of Southampton, with support from the British Council.
The activity was opened with remarks from Prof. Dr. Tika Widiastuti, SE, M.SI (Vice Dean I of FEB UNAIR) who emphasized the importance of research that can provide real impacts for inclusive education in Indonesia, Prof. Hery Purnobasuki, M.Si.,Ph.D (Head of UNAIR Sustainable Community Service Institute) who emphasized that the development of an inclusive culture must start from the campus environment so that it can have a broad impact on society, Summer Xia (Country Director & Director Southeast Asia, British Council) and Dr. Benny Bandanadjaja, ST, MT (Director of Belmawa Kemendiktisaintek) who encouraged the results of this research to become evidence-based policy so that every Rupiah invested can provide a real and sustainable impact for disability inclusion in higher education.
This dissemination presented cross-country researchers, namely Prof. Dr. Raditya Sukmana, SE, MA (Lead Researcher Indonesia), Asst. Prof. Wahyu Jatmiko, M.Sc., Ph.D. (Lead Researcher UK – University of Southampton), Shochrul Rohmatul Ajija, SE, M.Ec, and Assoc. Prof. Meri Indri Hapsari, SE, M.Si., Ph.D. The research results presented also resulted in strategic policy recommendations, including the encouragement of the implementation of a blended financing scheme to support disability inclusion in higher education.
The discussion became more comprehensive through a panel session with practitioners and stakeholders, namely Prof. Dr. Budiyanto, M.Pd (BELMAWA Kemendiktisaintek), Mahalli, S.Sos., M.Sos (Universitas Brawijaya), Dr. Wisudanto, SE., MM., CFP (Center for Social Fund Management UNAIR), and Asep Hendriana, SE, MM (Dompet Dhuafa Education Program). This collaboration is a concrete step in encouraging systemic change towards a more inclusive and equitable higher education.
Through this activity, FEB UNAIR reaffirms its commitment to producing research that is not only academically superior, but also provides real contributions to public policies that have a broad impact.
