Youth Entrepreneur Camp (YEC) 2026 is an annual event organized by the Workshop Entrepreneur Business Society (WEBS) FEB Universitas Airlangga as a forum for introducing, welcoming, and fostering entrepreneurial spirit and leadership for the new generation. This activity is present in response to the dynamics and challenges of the current economy, where global economic uncertainty, increasingly fierce competition in the world of work, and the need for adaptive and innovative human resources require the younger generation to have an independent spirit and be oriented towards creating opportunities.
YEC 2026 is designed as a form of non-formal, applied education through practice-based learning, to develop business skills, leadership, teamwork, as well as critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. This activity aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number 4 (Quality Education) by emphasizing strengthening competencies and real-world experience in the field of entrepreneurship. Furthermore, YEC aims to instill entrepreneurial values, introduce WEBS faculty activity units, and strengthen solidarity and collaboration among members.
Through group business practices carried out during the activity, participants are trained to design and manage adaptive, productive, and sustainable businesses according to current market conditions and community needs. This effort supports SDGs number 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by preparing aspiring young entrepreneurs who are able to create jobs and contribute to economic growth. In the long term, the entrepreneurial training provided through YEC 2026 is expected to encourage the economic independence of members, thereby indirectly contributing to SDGs number 1 (No Poverty).
In addition, the 2026 Youth Entrepreneur Camp emphasizes the importance of collaboration, partnerships, and strengthening networks among WEBS members, both inside and outside the university environment, as an implementation of SDGs number 17 (Partnerships to Achieve the Goals) in building an inclusive and mutually supportive entrepreneurial ecosystem. Businesses run in groups during the activity become a means of continuous learning and evaluation for business development after the activity takes place. Furthermore, associates are given the freedom to choose a business line as a vehicle for learning and business development during their management period at WEBS, in order to create innovative, adaptive, independent, and competitive young entrepreneurs.
