Surabaya, Monday, November 17, 2025 – The Accounting Student Association of the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga once again held its annual Charity 2025 event, a fundraising program aimed at increasing social awareness and encouraging concrete action for humanitarian issues. This year, the Charity carried the theme "Walking with Compassion, Speaking with Understanding: For a World Where Everyone Belongs," which focused on strengthening public awareness of disability issues and the importance of inclusivity.
Embracing the spirit of solidarity, the Charity 2025 theme depicts two important pillars: Walking with Compassion, a symbol of concrete action through the Fun Run, and Speaking with Understanding, which emphasizes the urgency of inclusive and empathetic communication in viewing people with disabilities as empowered and equal individuals. By combining elements of education and physical activity, this activity is expected to foster empathy, break down stigma, and expand spaces for inclusion in society.
As an opening event, the 2025 National Charity Webinar was successfully held on November 1, 2025, with the sub-theme "From Awareness to Action: Communicating with Purpose in Disability and Caregiving Advocacy." This webinar presented an in-depth discussion of the role of strategic communication in championing the rights of persons with disabilities and their caregivers. Participants gained insight into the importance of transforming awareness into concrete actions, while also understanding the challenges and needs of the disability community across various sectors of life.
The series of events then concluded with the 2025 Charity Fun Run held on November 16, 2025, with the sub-theme "Every Step Counts, Every Soul Matters." This activity successfully attracted hundreds of participants to participate in an act of solidarity realized through a fun run. Each participant's step was not only a physical activity, but also a form of moral support and a donation contribution for people with disabilities. The enthusiasm of the participants is proof that social awareness can grow through simple yet impactful activities.
Overall, Charity 2025 makes a positive contribution to the achievement of several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequality), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Inclusion), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Through collaboration between various parties, this activity emphasizes that inclusivity is not just a discourse, but a shared commitment to creating a just, friendly, and equal environment for all.
