"Learn from the experts" is an important saying for a learner. This is also a lesson from Sr. An Nahl: 43. This includes learning management science.
Around 100 MM FEB UNAIR students, on Thursday, January 18, 2018, also received valuable lessons from the President of PT Humpuss Intermoda Transportasi, Mr. Theo Lekatompessy. Together with his board of directors, the FE Unair alumni of class of '80, shared lessons learned from the growth and development of PT Humpuss. From a condition of minus profits and heavy debt, to a prime condition. This even happened without layoffs.
He treated the company as an extended family, in carrying out leadership. He also taught that leaders will gain loyalty and support from their followers if they are trustworthy. This makes the importance of personal and institutional reputation as a determinant of follower trust. He
also conveyed the wisdom of Ki Hajar Dewantara who taught leadership that is able to see the situation, able to lead when in the lead; accompany the company when it is struggling; and even encourage when there is low motivation from followers.
Not only that, the philosophy of business management also requires mental accounting. And almost all of the discussion on the restructuring process of PT Humpuss Intermoda Transportation was based on business accounting philosophy, complemented by an understanding of business law.
The lively discussion, with many critical questions from students, quickly stretched to two hours.
Thank you, Mr. Theo. We look forward to the next sharing session… (gcp)
