The event, attended by Department Heads, Study Program Coordinators, Course Supervisors (PJMK), Competency, Career, and Alumni Impact Units involved in academic development, is part of Universitas Airlangga efforts to strengthen the implementation of microcredential programs within the university. Through this mentoring, faculty are encouraged to develop competency-based learning that is more adaptive to the needs of the workplace and industry developments.
As a unit responsible for developing educational innovation and learning technology at Universitas Airlangga, the Center for Educational Innovation and Learning Technology (PIPTP) UNAIR actively promotes the implementation of microcredential programs through various outreach activities, roadshows, and mentoring in various faculties. This program aims to increase the capacity of study programs to develop flexible, innovative learning that is oriented towards strengthening student competencies.
The event was opened by the Vice Dean I of FEB UNAIR, Prof. Dr. Tika Widiastuti, who emphasized that the development of microcredentials is a strategic step in responding to the increasingly dynamic needs of the world of work and the demands for ever-evolving competencies.
In her remarks, Prof. Tika stated that universities are not only required to produce academically superior graduates but also to equip students with specific competencies relevant to the needs of industry and society. Therefore, the microcredential grant program presents a crucial opportunity for study programs to introduce more flexible, adaptive, and impactful learning innovations.
In the main session, participants received direct guidance from Noven Suprayogi, SE, M.Si., Ak., who represented PIPTP UNAIR. In his presentation, Noven explained various technical aspects of preparing a microcredential grant proposal, from understanding the program's objectives, developing a learning design, formulating measurable outcomes, to strategies for developing a proposal aligned with program success indicators.
Furthermore, Noven emphasized that the microcredential program is a form of learning innovation that enables students to acquire specific, recognized competencies that are relevant to industry needs. Through a more flexible learning approach, this program is expected to strengthen graduates' readiness to face the challenges of the ever-evolving professional world.
In addition to the presentation of materials, the event took place interactively through discussion and consultation sessions. Participants had the opportunity to discuss proposed program ideas, identify potential competency development opportunities that could be integrated into the curriculum, and receive input to improve the quality of their proposals.
The enthusiasm of the participants demonstrated the strong commitment of the FEB UNAIR academic community to supporting the development of competency-based learning. Through the microcredential program, students are expected to gain recognition for specific skills and competencies relevant to industry developments, thereby enhancing graduates' competitiveness at the national and international levels.
Through collaboration with PIPTP UNAIR, FEB UNAIR hopes that more study programs will be able to produce innovative and implementable microcredential grant proposals. This effort also forms part of a shared commitment to supporting the transformation of higher education at Universitas Airlangga by strengthening learning innovation, improving graduate competencies, and developing an educational ecosystem that is responsive to future challenges and needs.
