
(FEB NEWS) – The Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR), continues to strengthen its international network by holding a Strategic Meeting with a delegation from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia. The event was held on Monday, February 9, 2026, in the Meeting Room of the Department of Economics, FEB UNAIR, as part of efforts to finalize cross-border academic collaborations.
This strategic meeting was attended by the UiTM Malaysia delegation consisting of Dr. Azlin Zanariah Binti Bahtar (Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Business and Management) and Dr. Farahiyah Akmal Mat Nawi (Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Business and Management). From FEB UNAIR, this activity was attended by Vice Dean I of FEB UNAIR Prof. Dr. Tika Widiastuti, SE., M.Si., Head of the Department of Economics Prof. Rossanto Dwi Handoyo, SE., M.Si., Ph.D., and Magdalena Triasih Dumauli, SE., M.Ec., Ph.D. – Lecturer of the Department of Economics FEB UNAIR.
The meeting was warm and constructive, reflecting the spirit of collaboration and the commitment of both institutions to building a sustainable academic partnership. Discussions focused on strengthening international cooperation through various strategic schemes designed to provide mutual benefits for both parties.
Vice Dean I of FEB UNAIR, Prof. Dr. Tika Widiastuti, SE., M.Si., emphasized that international collaboration is a crucial part of strengthening the faculty's academic quality and global competitiveness. The collaboration with UiTM Malaysia is considered a strategic step by FEB UNAIR in expanding international experience for students and lecturers, while simultaneously strengthening the quality of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
Meanwhile, Dr. Azlin Zanariah Binti Bahtar, a representative from UiTM Malaysia, expressed her appreciation for FEB UNAIR's commitment to building an equality-based partnership. She considered FEB UNAIR a strategic partner with a vision aligned with UiTM Malaysia, particularly in developing student and academic staff mobility that prioritizes the principle of reciprocity.
Through this meeting, FEB UNAIR and UiTM Malaysia have initiated an international collaboration that includes student mobility and student exchange programs, for both inbound and outbound students, as well as academic staff exchange initiatives. Furthermore, this collaboration also includes the involvement of lecturers as examiners for undergraduate and doctoral theses and dissertations, which is implemented based on the principle of reciprocity or mutual benefit.
All of these collaboration schemes are currently in the finalization stage as a basis for implementing collaborative programs that are structured, sustainable, and have long-term impacts.
This international collaboration between FEB UNAIR and UiTM Malaysia contributes directly to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 4: Quality Education, through expanding access to global learning, knowledge exchange, and improving the academic quality of students and lecturers.
In addition, cross-border staff exchange and academic collaboration initiatives also support SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by strengthening international institutional networks oriented towards sustainability and human resource capacity building.
Going forward, FEB UNAIR is optimistic that this collaboration will enrich the academic experience of its academic community while strengthening the faculty's position as a world-class educational institution oriented towards quality and sustainability.
