CEO Teaching Series #2

The Department of Management, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR) under the leadership of Dr. Gancar Candra Premananto, SE., MSi. held a guest lecture “CEO Mengajar Series” attended by management students of Class of 2021 with the speaker Pranowo Tri Nusantoro – HRGA Director of PT Petro Oxo Nusantara (PON) on Thursday, October 27, 2020 at 10:00 WIB at the Fajar Notonegoro Hall, 2nd Floor. 

 

 

On this occasion, the profile of PT PON is presented, a semi-government company where 50% of its shares are held by the private sector, namely PT Lintas Lima Lestari Laksana from Singapore and 50% of its shares come from the government, namely the Ministry of Finance, which is distributed to PERTAMINA and then continued to PT. Tuban Petrochemical Industries (TubanPetro). Located in Gresik and has 189 employees and the production raw materials used are propylene and natural gas. With the latest assets of almost 2 trillion rupiah. Its products are 2-Ethyl Hexanol which is a raw material for PPE and rubber gloves, then there are Iso-Butanol, Normal-Butanol and CO2 Liquid. Established since 1990 until now, it continues to innovate products (deviclearization), market (development), and people (development) to be able to reach international markets such as China, Australia, UAE, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, including being sold independently in Indonesia. PT PON has its own port to facilitate the process of shipping its products either by ship. The vision of PT PON is to become a reliable producer of 2-Ethyl Hexanol (2-EH) and other petrochemical products that are able to provide added value to stakeholders and its mission is 1. Providing quality products and services, environmentally friendly, and committed to occupational safety and health; 2. Developing new products that provide added value to the Company; 3. Having professional and integrity human resources; 4. Contributing to the development of the social economy of the community and national industry.

 

In addition to providing a general overview of PT PON's company profile, Pranowo also provided a basic understanding of operational management and supply chains, which can serve as a foundation for students when exploring the real world of work, namely SIPOC (supplier, input, process, output, and customer). The presentation of the material continued with a one-by-one dissection of the SIPOC components, starting with suppliers, which include supplier types, supplier locations, and types of goods. Then secondly, inputs include procurement processes, warehousing or warehouses, and procedures. Thirdly, there are processes that focus on quality and quantity that will impact the consumption ratio. Fourthly, outputs include marketing, transportation modes, and sales modes. And finally, customers, which include consumer locations, consumer types, and studying consumer psychology to be able to analyze customer satisfaction so that companies can innovate to meet consumer needs and desires. 

 

     

 

Pranowo also provided information regarding PT PON for students, namely that PT PON opens wide opportunities for students who want to intern at the PT PON Gresik company, either independently or through the MBKM route, and also conveyed that great opportunities can be had by every participant who primarily has foreign language skills such as Mandarin because PT PON has explored the international market.
