UNAIR FEB SRIKANDI TEAM WINS 2ND PLACE IN CRAFT CELEBRATION AT THE 2025 UMI YOUTHPRENEUR EVENT

(FEB NEWS) Students from the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga have once again achieved a proud achievement at a national event. The Srikandi Team, consisting of Tarissa Windy Aminianti (IE 2022), Ngesti Tyas Utami (IE 2022), and Widya Ariana (IE 2022), won second place in the Crafts category for students in the Umi YouthPreneur 2025 competition, November 15, 2025. The team is led by Tarissa Windy Aminianti, an Economics student from the class of 2022.

Umi YouthPreneur 2025 is a young entrepreneur development program organized by the Government Investment Center (PIP), a unit under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia and the Directorate General of Treasury (DJPb). This event brought together more than 1,500 participants from Sabang to Merauke, divided into two categories: general and student, with four competition areas: Food and Beverage, Fashion, Craft, and Social and Environmental.

Through a rigorous selection process, from the top 80 to the top 40, to the final 24, Team Srikandi successfully demonstrated its best performance and innovation in the field of Craft. The grand final round took place at the Sari Pacific Hotel, Jakarta, on November 12–15, 2025, featuring a booth camp session, business briefing, and pitching before a panel of judges who were all CEOs of well-known companies, including Muhammad Ismail, CEO of the Zahir application.

The program was implemented through a collaboration between PIP and the Wardhani Foundation. The initial selection process involved uploading pitch decks via the Wardhani website, before the participants were narrowed down to 80 and then 40. The 40 finalists were invited to Jakarta for an intensive booth camp before 24 winners were selected from the four competition categories.

On the first day, all participants were introduced to the PIP and the program agenda. The second day featured four business training sessions covering techniques for building a strong business and strategies for effective presentations to investors. Through this series of activities, participants not only competed but also received direct coaching from experienced CEOs in the business world.

In this competition, the Srikandi Team proposed a craft business idea titled "Senyum Rangkai." This idea arose from concern over the increasing amount of flower bouquet waste each graduation season, while more durable alternatives tend to be expensive and less personal. Senyum Rangkai offers flower bouquets made from wire wool that are more durable, environmentally friendly, and affordable for students.

This product is aimed at students aged 17–25 and the Surabaya community, and is marketed through e-commerce, social media, student events, and city bazaars. High hopes are pinned that Senyum Rangkai can contribute to Surabaya's creative economy ecosystem and create bouquets that foster emotional closeness for both giver and recipient.

Throughout the competition, the team carried out preparations independently. However, the team leader, Tarissa Windy, received direction and guidance from Mr. Ferdi, Head of the PPA 2-A Section. This guidance was crucial because Tarissa was currently completing an internship at the Directorate General of Taxes and Taxation (DGT) and the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (PIP)—the agency that also organized the Umi YouthPreneur 2025 competition.

Closing her statement, Tarissa conveyed her motto which became a source of encouragement for herself and her team:
“Dare to Dream, and continue to inspire.”

The achievements of the Srikandi Team are expected to inspire other FEB UNAIR students to continue working, innovating, and daring to be part of the solution in developing young entrepreneurs in Indonesia.
