HIMA S1 ACCOUNTING HOLDS FOUR SOCIAL ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT 2025

(HIMA S1 AK NEWS) The Student Association (HIMA) of the S1 Accounting Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga consistently carries out community service programs through four series of Social Actions throughout 2025. This activity targets foster children in social foundations and orphanages as groups that need educational support, character building, and motivation to learn from an early age.

The first Social Action (Aksos 1) was held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Himmatun Ayat Foundation in Wonorejo, Surabaya, involving dozens of foster children. This activity was motivated by children's limited access to creative learning activities and social interactions that support character development. To address this issue, the Accounting Undergraduate Student Association (HIMA S1) presented various educational and recreational activities, such as learning games, key chain painting, and breaking the fast and congregational prayers. This program aims to foster a spirit of learning, togetherness, and empathy through a fun approach.

The second series of Social Actions (Aksos 2) was held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the Muhammadiyah Orphanage. This activity was designed to provide basic economic literacy education for the children in their care. The problem of low understanding of financial management from an early age was addressed by introducing the concept of simple businesses, creativity, and savings habits. The children were encouraged to understand that economic independence can be built through small businesses and the use of creativity, rather than solely relying on assistance. This activity aligns with efforts to improve the quality of applied non-formal education.

The third Social Action (Aksos 3) was held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the 10 November Museum in Surabaya. This activity targeted foster children to expand their access to history and national values learning outside the formal school environment. Through hands-on education at the museum, participants were encouraged to understand the struggles of heroes, emulate the values of courage and responsibility, and foster a love for their homeland. This contextual learning provided a more lively and meaningful learning experience while strengthening character education.

To conclude the series, the fourth Social Action (Aksos 4) was held on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at the Maslahatul Ummah Orphanage. This activity focused on strengthening the children's motivation and self-confidence in planning for the future. Through reflective and symbolic activities such as creating a "tree of hope," the children were encouraged to write down their dreams and understand the importance of learning, discipline, and continuous effort. This program responded to the need for psychosocial and motivational support for the children in our care.

Overall, the four series of Social Actions of the 2025 Accounting Undergraduate Student Association (HIMA S1 Accounting) provided a tangible impact in the form of increased learning motivation, understanding of educational values, strengthening character, and growing self-confidence of the fostered children. For students, these activities also serve as a means of social learning and strengthening empathy. This Social Action Program is designed as a sustainable activity that will continue to be developed in the following years as part of FEB UNAIR's contribution in supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals) through collaboration between students, social institutions, and the community.
