UPGRADING MOSIAC 2019: Strengthening Brotherhood, Straightening the Path to Realizing Da'wah

"Say, "This is my path (religion), I and those who follow me invite Allah (preach) with clear arguments. Glory be to Allah, and I am not among the idolaters" (QS Yusuf: 108)

Da'wah is not something that can be undertaken alone but must be undertaken collectively and in an organized manner. The long journey of da'wah indicates the need for a foundation of shared understanding to ensure da'wah progresses in accordance with its stated goals.

MOSIAC (Moslem Students Association of Economics and Business faculty) as a student activity unit of the faculty in the field of Islamic spirituality held an upgrading activity for MOSAIC itself. The upgrading was held on Saturday and Sunday, March 9 and 10, 2019 at the Nuruzzaman Mosque, Universitas Airlangga Campus B and the Baiturrozaq Sier Mosque. This activity was carried out to align perceptions and strengthen the internal brotherhood of MOSAIC in carrying out one year of management. The alignment of perceptions and the closeness of brotherhood are necessary because da'wah cannot run alone, just as organized crime is more frightening than unorganized goodness, da'wah needs to be organized.

The 2019 MOSAIC Upgrading was attended by MOSAIC's internal management, and was attended by the MOSIAC Advisor, Drs. R. Moh Qudsi Fauzi, MM. In this activity, material related to organization and leadership was also discussed to deepen the understanding of MOSAIC's internal management in running the organization within this one management. Mr. Sulistya Rusgianto as the speaker of the organizational material conveyed various matters related to the importance of organized da'wah and shared his various experiences as an SKI activist at that time. In addition to organizational material, leadership material was also presented. This material was delivered by Adi Bintang Pradana, Mas'ul MOSAIC FEB 2018 who has experience leading MOSAIC for one year of management. Various problems related to SKI were discussed without leaving out suggestions that must be carried out. Interactive discussions were carried out to facilitate understanding and solve problems together.

While the material was the main focus, Mabit (Faith and Tkwa Development Night) and games were also held to better understand the internal management. Mabit lasted from evening until dawn on Saturday. Both sisters and brothers shared their experiences, recited the Koran, dhikr, and performed Tahajud (night prayer) and dawn prayers together. Additionally, on Sunday afternoon, simple games were played to further strengthen the bonds of brotherhood through fun.

The essence of all the events in this upgrading program is to align intentions and strengthen brotherhood, achieving a shared vision within the organization. "It's not Islam that needs people, but people who need Islam."
