(BEM NEWS) Choosing a future in higher education requires thorough preparation and accurate information. This spirit of exploration led a group of students from SMAN 1 Pasuruan to conduct a study visit to the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Airlangga on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Held in the Soepoyo Hall, 2nd Floor of FEB UNAIR, the event aimed to introduce the campus environment and leading study programs to prospective students.
The atmosphere in Soepoyo Hall was warm and enthusiastic as hundreds of students in white and gray uniforms entered. They were greeted by faculty and program leaders. During the session, the students were given a comprehensive overview of college life, supporting facilities, and career prospects in economics and business.
"This visit is a bridge for high school students to see more closely how the academic atmosphere at FEB UNAIR upholds the value of Excellence with Morality," said Mrs. Ida Wijayanti, S.EI., M.SEI., as Staff of the Vice Dean I in her remarks. In line with this, teacher representatives from SMAN 1 Pasuruan expressed their appreciation for the openness in accepting their students to learn directly from the source.
The main activity featured an in-depth presentation of the profiles of each study program. Gigih Prihantono, SE, M.SE. (Secretary of the Undergraduate Economics Study Program) explained how the Economics curriculum is relevant to current global challenges. Meanwhile, Elsa Yustika Putri, SM, M.SM. (Secretary of the Undergraduate Management Study Program) explored the various concentrations in the Management department that can hone students' leadership and managerial skills.
"We hope this information about the undergraduate Economics and Management programs will serve as a strong reference for students at SMAN 1 Pasuruan in making their university entrance selection decisions," said Gigih Prihantono during the presentation. The students were also given the opportunity to engage in direct dialogue through an interactive question-and-answer session.
This school visit aligns with the goal of achieving Quality Education. By providing transparent and inspiring access to information, FEB UNAIR contributes to ensuring educational inclusivity and motivating young people to pursue higher education.
The presentation on graduate prospects is also related to SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, where an early understanding of the world of management and economics becomes the initial provision for forming competitive human resources in the future job market.
CLOSING The visit of SMAN 1 Pasuruan to FEB UNAIR ended with a group photo session and exchange of souvenirs as a symbol of the close relationship between secondary and higher education institutions.
Through this activity, it is hoped that students will not only take home formal information, but also inspiration and enthusiasm to become part of the big family Universitas Airlangga in the future.
